 Recipe Summary

Craving fresh, warm donut holes but don’t want to fuss with yeast or a mixer? These Easy Donut Holes made from biscuit dough are your answer! Light, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly golden on the outside, these tasty little bites come together in under 20 minutes using just a can of refrigerated biscuit dough and a few pantry staples.

Fry them up, toss in cinnamon sugar, or glaze with your favorite icing — and you’ve got a breakfast or dessert treat that tastes bakery-made!

 Ingredients

Base Ingredients:

  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands)

  • Vegetable oil, for frying (about 3 cups, depending on pot size)

Cinnamon Sugar Coating (Optional but recommended):

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

 Instructions

Step 1: Heat the Oil

Pour vegetable oil into a medium saucepan or deep skillet, at least 1.5–2 inches deep. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium heat. Use a kitchen thermometer for accuracy.

Step 2: Prep the Dough

Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters or use a small round cutter (or bottle cap) to create small circles if you prefer a traditional round donut hole.

Roll each piece lightly into a ball using your hands for even cooking.

Step 3: Fry the Donut Holes

Carefully place 4–6 donut holes into the hot oil at a time. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Use a slotted spoon or tongs to flip and remove them. Place fried donut holes on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Tip: Don’t overcrowd the pan; frying in batches helps maintain oil temperature and even cooking.

Step 4: Add Your Favorite Finish

Cinnamon Sugar:

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. While donut holes are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.

Glaze:

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Dip warm donut holes into glaze and place on a wire rack to set.

Step 5: Serve

Serve warm for the best flavor and texture! They’re soft, sweet, and slightly crispy on the outside.

Perfect with a cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk.

 Storage & Reheating

  • Room Temperature: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

  • To Reheat: Microwave for 10–15 seconds or pop in a 300°F oven for a few minutes to re-crisp.

Note: These are best eaten fresh but can still be enjoyed the next day.
