 Preparation Details

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes

  • Cook Time: 45–55 minutes

  • Total Time: 1 hour – 1 hour 10 minutes

  • Skill Level: Easy to Moderate

  • Servings: 4 pork chops

 Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (¾ to 1 inch thick)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter (for searing)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

For the Supreme Sauce:

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup milk or heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Optional: ½ teaspoon dried thyme or parsley

Topping (Optional but Recommended):

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup crispy fried onions or breadcrumbs

 Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Season the Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with:

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

  • Paprika (optional for extra flavor and color)

Step 3: Sear the Pork Chops

  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter over medium-high heat.

  2. Sear the pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. You’re not cooking them through — just building flavor.

  3. Remove and set aside.

Step 4: Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet (reduce heat to medium), add the sliced onions and cook for 3–5 minutes until softened and slightly golden. Stir occasionally.

Step 5: Prepare the Sauce

In a mixing bowl, whisk together:

  • Cream of mushroom soup

  • Sour cream

  • Milk or cream

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • A pinch of paprika and thyme (if using)

Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 6: Assemble the Dish

  1. In a lightly greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a spoonful of the sauce on the bottom.

  2. Arrange the seared pork chops on top.

  3. Spoon sautéed onions over the pork chops.

  4. Pour the remaining sauce evenly over the chops.

  5. (Optional) Sprinkle shredded cheese and crispy onions or breadcrumbs on top for extra texture.

Step 7: Bake

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then:

  • Remove the foil and bake another 15–20 minutes uncovered, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C) and the sauce is bubbly.

If using cheese or crispy toppings, you can broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a golden, crisp finish.

Step 8: Serve

Let rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot over:

  • Mashed potatoes

  • Egg noodles

  • Steamed rice

  • Roasted vegetables

Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme if desired.
