Peach Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Filling:
  • 6-8 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (or 4 cups canned/frozen peaches, drained)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness of peaches)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized skillet.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and cornstarch.
    • Toss until the peaches are well-coated and the cornstarch is dissolved.
    • Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  3. Make the Topping:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using).
    • Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract, stirring until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  4. Assemble the Cobbler:
    • Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. It will spread out as it bakes, so no need to smooth it over the fruit completely.
    • Optionally, sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or sugar on top for added flavor and texture.
  5. Bake:

    • The filling should be bubbling around the edges.
