air fryer Banana bread
Ingredients:
- 3 medium ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar (or 1/3 cup if you prefer it less sweet)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for added flavor
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Banana Bread Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the bananas and mix well.
- Stir in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until there are no streaks of flour left. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 3 minutes.
Step 3: Prepare the Baking Pan
- Grease a small loaf pan or an air fryer-friendly baking pan that fits inside the air fryer basket. Alternatively, you can use silicone molds.
- Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
Step 4: Air Fry the Banana Bread
- Place the pan in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 25-30 minutes. Check the bread at the 20-minute mark by inserting a toothpick or skewer into the center—if it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, the bread is done.
- If necessary, air fry for an additional 5-10 minutes, depending on the size of your pan and the thickness of the batter.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
- Once the banana bread is done, carefully remove the pan from the air fryer and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Remove the bread from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
