Air Fryer Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes by hand or using a dough hook attachment on a stand mixer. The dough should be smooth and elastic.

Step 2: Let the Dough Rise

  1. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a damp towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Step 3: Shape the Dough

  1. After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a round or oval loaf that fits in your air fryer basket.
  2. You can also divide the dough into smaller rolls or a loaf depending on the size of your air fryer.

Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 3 minutes.

Step 5: Air Fry the Bread

  1. Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the shaped dough into the basket and brush the top with a little olive oil or melted butter for a golden crust.
  3. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 190°F (88°C) if you have a kitchen thermometer.

Step 6: Cool and Serve

  1. Once done, remove the bread from the air fryer and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
