AIR FRYER BLOOMING POTATO

AIR FRYER BLOOMING POTATO

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Serving Size: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Sour cream and chopped chives, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Potatoes:
    • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Cut Blooming Potato:
    • Slice a thin layer from the bottom of each potato to create a stable base. Place a potato between two chopsticks or wooden spoons to prevent cutting through. Make thin, parallel cuts across the potato, ensuring not to cut all the way through.
  4. Create Seasoning Mixture:
    • In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, dried rosemary, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Coat Potatoes:
    • Gently brush the seasoned olive oil mixture over each potato, ensuring the slices are well coated.
  6. Air Fry Blooming Potatoes:
    • Place the prepared potatoes in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 35 minutes or until the potatoes are crispy on the edges and tender in the center.
  7. Optional Parmesan Topping:
    • If desired, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the potatoes during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  8. Check for Doneness:
    • Check the doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the center of the potato; it should easily pierce through.
  9. Serve:
    • Carefully transfer the blooming potatoes to a serving plate.
  10. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with a dollop of sour cream and chopped chives. Serve the air-fried blooming potatoes immediately while they are hot and crispy.
