Air Fryer Chicken Leg Quarters

Preparation Time: 10 minutes Marinating Time: 30 minutes to 2 hours (optional) Cooking Time: 30-35 minutes Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes (including marinating time) Recipe Intensity: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken leg quarters (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, dried oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Pat the chicken leg quarters dry with paper towels. Place them in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the chicken leg quarters, making sure they are evenly coated. For best flavor, cover the dish or seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours. You can skip this step if you’re short on time, but marinating enhances the flavor.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Place the marinated chicken leg quarters in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Make sure they are not overcrowded, and leave some space between them for air circulation.
  7. Air fry the chicken leg quarters at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
  8. After 15 minutes, flip the chicken leg quarters using tongs or a spatula so that the skin side is facing up.
  9. Continue to air fry the chicken leg quarters at 375°F (190°C) for another 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
  10. Once cooked, remove the chicken leg quarters from the air fryer basket and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  11. Serve the air fryer chicken leg quarters hot with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the size and thickness of the chicken leg quarters. Adjust the cooking time accordingly, ensuring that the chicken is fully cooked and juices run clear. You can also customize the seasoning blend to your taste preferences by adding herbs and spices of your choice. Enjoy the juicy and flavorful air fryer chicken leg quarters for a delicious meal!
