Air fryer pizza toast

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes
Total Time: 10-12 minutes
Servings: 4 slices

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or any preferred type)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices or any preferred toppings (e.g., diced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Toast:
    • Lay the bread slices on a cutting board or baking sheet.
    • Spread a tablespoon or more of pizza sauce on each slice, making sure to cover the bread evenly.
    • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
    • Add pepperoni slices or any preferred toppings on top of the cheese.
    • Sprinkle dried oregano or Italian seasoning over the toppings for extra flavor.
  3. Air Fry the Pizza Toast:
    • Carefully place the prepared pizza toast slices in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
    • Air fry the pizza toast at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is toasted to your desired level of crispiness.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove the pizza toast from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula.
    • Let the pizza toast cool for a minute or two before serving.
    • Optionally, sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a bit of heat and garnish with fresh basil.

Tips

  • Bread Type: Use thick slices of bread for a sturdier base, or try different types of bread like sourdough, ciabatta, or even bagels for variety.
  • Cheese: Experiment with different cheeses such as cheddar, provolone, or a blend of Italian cheeses.
  • Toppings: Customize your pizza toast with various toppings like cooked sausage, bacon, pineapple, spinach, or artichokes.

Enjoy your quick and delicious Air Fryer Pizza Toast!
