Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of thick-cut Texas toast
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter Spread:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Spread Garlic Butter Mixture:
    • Place the slices of Texas toast on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
  4. Add Cheese Topping:
    • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic butter-covered Texas toast, ensuring an even distribution.
  5. Bake in the Oven:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the toast are golden brown.
  6. Broil for Crispy Top:
    • Optional: If you desire a crispy, golden-brown top, switch the oven to broil for an additional 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.Serve Hot:
      • Remove the cheesy Texas toast from the oven and let it cool for a minute before serving. This allows the cheese to set slightly.
