Home made air fryer cake

Making a cake in an air fryer is a convenient and quick way to enjoy a delicious dessert. Here’s a simple recipe for a basic vanilla air fryer cake:

Air Fryer Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes.
    • Grease and flour a small cake pan that fits into your air fryer basket. Alternatively, you can use silicone baking molds or ramekins.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream the Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the Eggs and Vanilla:
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Prepare for Air Frying:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake the Cake:
    • Place the cake pan in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Depending on the size and model of your air fryer, cooking times may vary, so start checking for doneness at around 20 minutes.
    • If the top of the cake is browning too quickly, cover it with a piece of aluminum foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Carefully remove the cake pan from the air fryer and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
    • Once cooled, you can frost the cake with your favorite icing or dust it with powdered sugar before serving.

Tips:

  • Pan Size: Ensure your cake pan fits comfortably in your air fryer basket with some space around it for air circulation.
  • Flavor Variations: You can add flavors like lemon zest, almond extract, or cocoa powder to the batter for different cake varieties.
  • Frosting: For a simple frosting, mix powdered sugar with a little milk and vanilla extract to make a glaze, or use store-bought frosting for convenience.

Enjoy your homemade air fryer cake!
