Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 27 minutes
Serving Size: 20-24 sausage balls
Ingredients:
- 1 lb pork sausage (mild or hot, based on preference)
- 2 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon dried sage (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Dipping sauce (optional, e.g., mustard, honey mustard)
Instructions:
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare Sausage Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork sausage, baking mix, shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, milk, dried sage (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Form Sausage Balls:
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Place in Air Fryer:
- Arrange the sausage balls in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them to allow for even cooking.
- Air Fry:
- Cook the sausage balls in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- Check for Doneness:
- Make sure the sausage balls are cooked through and have a golden-brown exterior. If needed, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve:
- Remove the sausage balls from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce, if desired.
