Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butter the Bread:
    • Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Assemble Sandwiches:
    • Place a generous amount of shredded cheese on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. If desired, add any optional ingredients like sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or sautéed onions. Top each with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  4. Air Fry:
    • Place the assembled sandwiches in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  5. Cook:
    • Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the Air Fryer Grilled Cheese from the basket, let them cool for a minute, then slice and serve.
