Air fryer Onions

Preparation Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes Recipe Intensity: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions (yellow, white, or red)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried herbs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings or wedges, depending on your preference.
  3. Place the sliced onions in a mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the onions and toss them to coat evenly. Alternatively, you can spray the onions with cooking spray.
  4. Season the onions with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings of your choice such as garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or dried herbs. Toss again to distribute the seasonings evenly.
  5. Arrange the seasoned onions in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Air fry the onions at 375°F (190°C) for about 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
  7. Check the onions towards the end of the cooking time. They should be golden brown and crispy around the edges.
  8. Once done, remove the air fryer onions from the basket and transfer them to a serving dish.
  9. Serve the crispy air fryer onions as a flavorful side dish or topping for burgers, sandwiches, salads, or other dishes.
  10. Enjoy the deliciously caramelized and crispy air fryer onions!

Note: You can customize the seasoning of the air fryer onions according to your taste preferences. Adjust the cooking time as needed to achieve your desired level of crispiness. These onions are a great addition to various recipes or can be enjoyed on their own as a tasty snack.
