Air fryer perogies

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10–12 minutes
Total Time: 15–20 minutes
Difficulty: Super Easy
Servings: 4

 Ingredients

For the Basic Air Fryer Perogies:

  • 12 frozen perogies (potato & cheese is most common, but any flavor works)

  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (or spray oil)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Optional Toppings:

  • Sour cream

  • Green onions, chopped

  • Caramelized onions

  • Crumbled bacon

  • Hot sauce

  • Melted butter

 Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Your Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. This helps ensure an even, crispy exterior.

 Step 2: Prepare the Perogies

  1. Toss frozen perogies with olive oil in a bowl until lightly coated.

  2. You can also spray them with cooking spray directly in the basket.

  3. Season lightly with salt and pepper, or leave plain for dipping.

If using fresh or homemade perogies, reduce cooking time slightly — around 8 minutes total.

 Step 3: Air Fry

  1. Place the perogies in a single layer in your air fryer basket.

  2. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through.

  3. They should be golden brown and crispy on the outside, and heated through.

 Step 4: Serve with Toppings

Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with your favorite toppings:

  • Sour cream & green onions (classic)

  • Caramelized onions & bacon bits

  • Melted butter & chives

  • Spicy aioli or ranch dip for a modern twist

Can You Air Fry Perogies Without Oil?

Yes, but a light coating of oil or spray helps achieve that signature crispy outside. Without oil, they may cook unevenly or become too dry.

 Frozen vs. Fresh vs. Homemade

Type Adjustments Needed
Frozen (uncooked) Follow the recipe exactly (10–12 mins)
Precooked frozen Cook for slightly less time (8–10 mins)
Homemade perogies Cook for 7–9 minutes max; avoid overcooking

 Storage & Reheating

  • Leftovers: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
