air fryer pinwheels

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Intensity: Medium

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with a splash of water)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, crumbled feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  3. Prepare Pastry:
    • Lay out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Spread the spinach and feta filling evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Roll Up:
    • Starting from one end, tightly roll up the pastry to form a log. Seal the edge by brushing it with a bit of the egg wash.
  5. Slice Pinwheels:
    • Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch thick pieces to create pinwheels.
  6. Air Fry:
    • Place the pinwheels in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Cook Pinwheels:
    • Air fry the pinwheels at 400°F (200°C) for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve:
    • Once cooked, remove the pinwheels from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
