Air Fryer Potato Skins

Air Fryer Potato Skins

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Sour cream and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean and Pierce Potatoes:
    • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pierce them several times with a fork.
  3. Air Fry Potatoes:
    • Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the skins are crispy and the insides are tender.
  4. Cut and Scoop:
    • Allow the potatoes to cool slightly. Cut them in half lengthwise and scoop out the insides, leaving about 1/4 inch of potato attached to the skins. Save the scooped-out potato for another use.
  5. Season Potato Skins:
    • Brush the inside and outside of the potato skins with olive oil.
    • In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle this mixture on the inside and outside of the potato skins.
  6. Air Fry Again:
    • Place the seasoned potato skins back into the air fryer basket and air fry for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until they become golden brown and crisp.
  7. Add Cheese and Bacon:
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon evenly inside each potato skin.
  8. Final Air Fry:
    • Return the loaded potato skins to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove the potato skins from the air fryer and garnish with sour cream and chopped green onions.
  10. Enjoy!
    • Serve the Air Fryer Potato Skins hot as a delicious appetizer or snack.

Feel free to customize your toppings based on personal preferences—salsa, guacamole, or diced tomatoes can also make tasty additions. Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer model and desired level of crispiness.
