Air Fryer Sausage Rolls

Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 30 minutes Yields: 12 sausage rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground sausage meat (pork, beef, or a combination)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional)
  • Ketchup or mustard for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine ground sausage meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic powder, dried sage, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll Out Puff Pastry:
    • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 12 equal rectangles.
  4. Assemble Sausage Rolls:
    • Place a portion of the sausage mixture along the center of each puff pastry rectangle. Roll the pastry around the sausage, sealing the edges by pressing them together.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash:
    • Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with beaten egg. This gives them a golden and shiny finish when cooked.
  6. Optional Topping:
    • If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top of the egg wash for added texture.
  7. Air Fry:
    • Place the sausage rolls in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve:
    • Allow the sausage rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with ketchup or mustard on the side if desired.
  9. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy your delicious air-fried sausage rolls as a snack, appetizer, or party treat!

Note: Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model, so monitor the sausage rolls for the last few minutes to prevent overcooking. Adjust the seasoning and herbs in the filling to suit your taste preferences.
