APPLE PIE QUESADILLAS RECIPE

APPLE PIE QUESADILLAS RECIPE

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2
Intensity: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Apple Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced apple with melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the mixture.
  2. Cook Apple Filling:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the apple mixture to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Assemble Quesadillas:
    • Place one flour tortilla on a flat surface. Spread the cooked apple filling evenly over half of the tortilla, leaving a border around the edges.
    • Fold the other half of the tortilla over the apple filling to create a half-moon shape.
  4. Cook Quesadillas:
    • Heat a clean skillet or pan over medium heat. Place the assembled quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy, and the filling is warm.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the apple pie quesadilla from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it cool for a minute, then slice it into wedges.
    • Dust the quesadilla wedges with powdered sugar if desired.
    • Serve the apple pie quesadillas warm as they are or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Note:

  • You can add a sprinkle of chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts) to the apple filling for extra crunch and flavor.
  • Drizzle some caramel sauce over the quesadillas before serving for an indulgent touch.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness and spices in the apple filling according to your taste preferences.
