Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

For the Smash Tacos:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

For the Optional Toppings:

  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Blackstone Griddle:
    • Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
  2. Cook Ground Beef:
    • In a skillet or on a portion of the griddle, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
  3. Season Beef:
    • Sprinkle the taco seasoning mix over the cooked ground beef. Add water and stir to combine. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the liquid has evaporated and the beef is coated in seasoning.
  4. Smash Tortillas:
    • Place the corn tortillas on the griddle in a single layer. Using a spatula or press, lightly smash each tortilla to flatten it slightly. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly charred and heated through.
  5. Assemble Tacos:
    • Remove the tortillas from the griddle and place them on a serving platter. Fill each tortilla with a spoonful of the seasoned ground beef.
  6. Add Toppings:
    • Top each taco with shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, diced onions, and chopped fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve the Blackstone smash tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
  8. Optional Toppings:
    • Set out additional toppings such as sliced jalapeños, sliced avocado or guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and hot sauce for guests to customize their tacos according to their preferences.
  9. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy these delicious and customizable Blackstone smash tacos as a fun and flavorful meal for any occasion!

Note: Feel free to customize the toppings and seasonings to suit your taste preferences. You can also use flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas if desired.
