Carnivore Calzone

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground pork
- 1/2 lb ground sausage
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional fillings: cooked bacon, pepperoni, cooked chicken, ham, etc.
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Meat Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or pork), ground sausage, and one egg.
- Mix well until fully combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare the Cheese Filling:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the shredded mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream until well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Calzones:
- Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions.
- On a piece of parchment paper, flatten each portion into a thin, round shape (about 1/4 inch thick).
- Spread half of the cheese filling on one half of each meat round.
- Add any optional fillings (bacon, pepperoni, chicken, ham, etc.) on top of the cheese mixture.
- Fold and Seal:
- Carefully fold the meat round over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
- Press the edges together to seal, using your fingers or a fork to crimp the edges.
- Bake:
- Transfer the calzones to the prepared baking sheet.
- Beat the remaining egg in a small bowl and brush the top of each calzone with the egg wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the calzones to cool for a few minutes before serving.
