chicken thigh with soy sauce

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4

Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish, optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Chicken Thighs:
    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. Make Soy Sauce Marinade:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
  4. Marinate Chicken:
    • Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the soy sauce marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Reserve the remaining marinade for basting.
  5. Marinate Time:
    • Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 10 minutes, or for better flavor, refrigerate and marinate for up to 4 hours.
  6. Coat with Olive Oil:
    • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Air Fry Chicken Thighs:
    • Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.
  8. Flip and Baste:
    • Flip the chicken thighs, baste with the reserved marinade, and air fry for an additional 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Garnish:
    • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  10. Serve:
    • Serve the Air Fryer Soy Sauce Chicken Thighs hot with your favorite side dishes.
  11. Enjoy!
    • Enjoy this flavorful and succulent soy sauce-marinated chicken right from the air fryer.

Note:

  • Ensure that the chicken thighs are cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of the chicken thighs and your specific air fryer model.
  • Customize the marinade by adding a dash of Sriracha or red pepper flakes for some heat.
