  • Prep Time: 5 minutes

  • Blend Time: 2 minutes

  • Total Time: 7 minutes

  • Servings: 2

  • Difficulty Level: Easy

  • Flavor Profile: Rich, chocolatey, creamy, cold

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk (or any milk of choice – almond, oat, or soy for dairy-free)

  • 1/3 cup chocolate syrup (or melted chocolate chips)

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups ice cubes

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 scoop chocolate or vanilla ice cream (for extra creaminess)

  • 1/2 frozen banana (for added texture and natural sweetness)

  • A pinch of salt (enhances chocolate flavor)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Whipped cream

  • Chocolate shavings

  • Mini marshmallows

  • Crushed Oreo cookies

  • Extra chocolate syrup drizzle

Equipment Needed

  • Ninja SLUSHi Maker or Ninja Blender with ice-crushing/blending capacity

  • Measuring cups & spoons

  • Tall milkshake glasses or tumblers

  • Straw and spoon for serving

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

Measure out all your ingredients. If using chocolate chips instead of syrup, melt them first and let them cool slightly. You can also freeze the milk in an ice cube tray beforehand for an ultra-thick consistency.

Step 2: Blend the Base

In your Ninja SLUSHi maker or Ninja blender, add the following in this order:

  1. Milk

  2. Chocolate syrup or melted chips

  3. Cocoa powder

  4. Sugar

  5. Vanilla extract

  6. Ice cubes

Secure the lid and blend on “Frozen Drink” or “Slush” mode for about 60–90 seconds, or until the mixture becomes smooth and frosty.

Tip: Pulse a few times first to break down the ice before running a full cycle.

Step 3: Adjust Consistency

Check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk and blend again. If too runny, add a few more ice cubes or frozen milk cubes and re-blend.

Want it creamier? Add a scoop of ice cream or a frozen banana and blend again for 10–15 seconds.

Step 4: Serve Immediately

Pour into chilled milkshake glasses. Top with whipped cream, drizzle extra chocolate syrup, and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or crushed Oreos. Serve with a wide straw or long spoon.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use chilled or frozen milk for a frostier finish.

  • Add espresso or coffee powder for a mocha-style kick.

  • Use dark cocoa powder for a richer, less sweet shake.

  • To make it vegan, use dairy-free milk and skip the whipped cream or use a plant-based version.

Flavor Variations

  • Peanut Butter Chocolate SLUSHi: Add 1–2 tablespoons of peanut butter before blending.

  • Mint Chocolate SLUSHi: Add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.

  • S’mores Milkshake: Add graham cracker crumbs and toasted marshmallows.

  • Mocha Frappe: Replace half the milk with brewed chilled coffee.
