Equipment Needed
-
Ninja SLUSHi Maker or Ninja Blender with ice-crushing/blending capacity
-
Measuring cups & spoons
-
Tall milkshake glasses or tumblers
-
Straw and spoon for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Ingredients
Measure out all your ingredients. If using chocolate chips instead of syrup, melt them first and let them cool slightly. You can also freeze the milk in an ice cube tray beforehand for an ultra-thick consistency.
Step 2: Blend the Base
In your Ninja SLUSHi maker or Ninja blender, add the following in this order:
-
Milk
-
Chocolate syrup or melted chips
-
Cocoa powder
-
Sugar
-
Vanilla extract
-
Ice cubes
Secure the lid and blend on “Frozen Drink” or “Slush” mode for about 60–90 seconds, or until the mixture becomes smooth and frosty.
Tip: Pulse a few times first to break down the ice before running a full cycle.
Step 3: Adjust Consistency
Check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk and blend again. If too runny, add a few more ice cubes or frozen milk cubes and re-blend.
Want it creamier? Add a scoop of ice cream or a frozen banana and blend again for 10–15 seconds.
Step 4: Serve Immediately
Pour into chilled milkshake glasses. Top with whipped cream, drizzle extra chocolate syrup, and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or crushed Oreos. Serve with a wide straw or long spoon.
Tips & Tricks
-
Use chilled or frozen milk for a frostier finish.
-
Add espresso or coffee powder for a mocha-style kick.
-
Use dark cocoa powder for a richer, less sweet shake.
-
To make it vegan, use dairy-free milk and skip the whipped cream or use a plant-based version.
