Servings: 4
Difficulty Level: Easy
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, washed and peeled
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce (for serving)
Instructions:
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut Potatoes:
- Cut the peeled potatoes into evenly sized matchstick or wedge shapes. The uniform size ensures even cooking.
- Soak Potatoes (Optional):
- For crispier fries, you can soak the cut potatoes in cold water for about 15-30 minutes to remove excess starch. Pat them dry thoroughly before proceeding.
- Season Potatoes:
- In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil until well-coated. Add garlic powder and paprika for extra flavor if desired. Sprinkle salt to taste.
- Air Fry:
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not crowded. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air Fry First Round:
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes. Shake the basket or toss the fries halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness.
- Air Fry Second Round:
- After the initial 10 minutes, increase the temperature to 425°F (220°C) and air fry for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Check for Doneness:
- Check a fry to ensure it’s cooked to your desired crispiness.
- Serve:
- Remove the fries from the air fryer and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup.
- Enjoy!
- Enjoy these Easy Air Fryer French Fries as a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried fries.
Note:
- Experiment with different seasonings such as cajun, seasoned salt, or your favorite spice blend.
- Adjust cooking times based on your air fryer model and the thickness of your fries.
- Ensure the fries are spread out in a single layer for the best results.
