Ninja Slushie Rehab

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Freeze Time (if applicable): 4–6 hours
Blend Time: 1–2 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes active (plus freeze if needed)
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 1–2

Ingredients

You can customize the base to your needs—this version is a lemonade-tea-citrus hybrid.

Slushie Base:

  • 1 cup brewed green tea or black tea (cooled)

  • ½ cup lemonade (fresh or store-bought)

  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave (optional for sweetness)

  • Juice of ½ an orange (or 2 tablespoons orange juice)

  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt (electrolyte boost)

  • ½ scoop electrolyte powder or hydration mix (optional)

  • Optional: 1–2 teaspoons liquid caffeine or ½ energy stick (like Zipfizz or MiO Energy)

To Freeze (if using Ninja Creami Breeze/Slushie):

  • Pour the liquid into the Creami pint and freeze for 4–6 hours or overnight

For Blender Method:

  • Add 1½–2 cups ice cubes instead of freezing

Equipment Needed

  • Ninja Creami Breeze or Ninja Slushie attachment
    OR

  • High-powered blender (if making fresh, no-freeze version)

  • Pint container (for freezing if needed)

  • Citrus juicer or fork for juicing

  • Spoon or scraper for reprocessing if needed

Instructions

If Using Ninja Creami (Frozen Pint Method):

  1. Mix the Base: In a measuring cup, combine brewed tea, lemonade, citrus juice, salt, and caffeine or sweetener (if using). Stir well.

  2. Freeze: Pour mixture into the Ninja Creami pint, making sure not to exceed the fill line. Freeze upright for at least 6 hours.

  3. Spin: Insert into the Ninja Creami Breeze. Select the “Slushie” function.

  4. Check Texture: If it’s powdery or too icy, respin once. You can add a splash of lemonade or tea before reprocessing for a smoother slush.

  5. Serve: Spoon into a glass or enjoy directly from the pint! Garnish with a lemon wedge or mint.

If Using Blender (Quick Version):

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Brew and cool your tea. Add lemonade, orange juice, salt, sweetener, and optional caffeine.

  2. Add Ice: Place ice cubes into the blender, followed by your liquid mix.

  3. Blend: Pulse on high or use the “Frozen Drink” setting until the texture is smooth and slushie-like.

  4. Taste & Adjust: Add a little more lemon juice or honey to balance flavor if needed.

  5. Pour & Enjoy: Serve in a chilled glass with a straw. Optional: garnish with a citrus wheel.
