Seafood salad can be wonderfully refreshing and versatile. Here’s a recipe for a classic seafood salad:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound mixed seafood (shrimp, squid, scallops, etc.), cooked and chopped
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Ensure that the mixed seafood is cooked and chopped into bite-sized pieces. You can use a mix of your favorite seafood, such as shrimp, squid, or scallops.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), Dijon mustard, chopped celery, red onion, fresh dill, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
- Add the cooked and chopped seafood to the bowl with the dressing mixture. Gently fold the seafood into the dressing until it is evenly coated.
- Season the seafood salad with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the seafood salad for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and added freshness.
- Serve the seafood salad chilled as a side dish, on a bed of greens, or as a filling for sandwiches or wraps.
This seafood salad is versatile and can be customized with additional ingredients like diced bell peppers, cucumbers, or even a touch of hot sauce for some extra zing. Adjust the flavors to your liking and enjoy the delightful mix of seafood with creamy dressing and fresh herbs!
