DOUBLE TURKEY CLUB SANDWICH

Ingredients:
- 6 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 slices cooked turkey breast
- 4 slices cooked bacon
- 2 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 2 leaves of lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 small avocado, sliced (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Butter or margarine for toasting (optional)
- Toothpicks, for securing the sandwich
Instructions:
- Toast the Bread:
- Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread if desired. Toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet over medium heat until golden brown.
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- While the bread is toasting, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Slice the tomato and avocado.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Lay out 3 slices of toasted bread for each sandwich.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- First Layer:
- On the first slice of bread, place a leaf of lettuce, 2 slices of turkey breast, a slice of cheese, and a few slices of tomato. Season with a little salt and black pepper.
- Add the second slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down.
- Second Layer:
- On top of the second slice of bread, add another leaf of lettuce, 2 slices of turkey breast, 2 slices of bacon, and sliced avocado (if using). Season with a little salt and black pepper.
- Top Layer:
- Place the third slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down.
- Secure and Serve:
- Secure the sandwich with toothpicks and cut it into halves or quarters to serve.
Tips:
- For a more flavorful sandwich, you can add a layer of honey mustard or Dijon mustard along with the mayonnaise.
