Air Fryer Baked Oatmeal

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes
Total Time: 30-35 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup applesauce or mashed banana
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup berries, chopped nuts, or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, applesauce or mashed banana, maple syrup or honey, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until fully combined. If using, fold in your choice of berries, chopped nuts, or chocolate chips.
  5. Prepare the Baking Dish:
    • Lightly grease an oven-safe dish that fits into your air fryer basket (an 8-inch round or square baking dish works well).
  6. Pour and Cook:
    • Pour the oatmeal mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
    • Place the dish into the preheated air fryer basket.
  7. Air Fry the Oatmeal:
    • Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the oatmeal is set. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the baked oatmeal to cool for a few minutes before cutting it into squares.
    • Serve warm, topped with yogurt, fresh fruit, or a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.

Tips:

  • You can customize this baked oatmeal with different add-ins like dried fruit, shredded coconut, or a dollop of nut butter swirled in before baking.
  • Leftover baked oatmeal can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave before serving.
