Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of refrigerated pie crust or homemade pie crust
  • 1/2 pound beef steak, diced
  • 1 medium potato, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 carrot, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Cooking spray or oil, for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced beef steak, diced potato, chopped onion, diced carrot, frozen peas, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  3. Roll Out Pie Crust:
    • Roll out the refrigerated pie crust on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pie crust into 4 equal squares.
  4. Fill Pasties:
    • Divide the filling mixture equally among the 4 pie crust squares, placing the filling on one half of each square, leaving a border around the edges.
  5. Fold and Seal Pasties:
    • Fold the other half of each pie crust square over the filling to create a triangle shape. Press the edges firmly together to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
  6. Brush with Egg Wash:
    • Brush the tops of the pasties with beaten egg to create a golden crust when air frying.
  7. Grease Air Fryer Basket:
    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil.
  8. Air Fry Pasties:
    • Place the pasties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  9. Cook Pasties:
    • Air fry the pasties at 375°F (190°C) for 18-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is cooked through.
  10. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the Cornish pasties from the air fryer. Serve hot or at room temperature.
  11. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy these delicious and savory air-fried Cornish pasties as a hearty meal or snack!

Note:

  • You can customize the filling by adding other ingredients such as diced swede (rutabaga), mushrooms, or herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  • These pasties can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days and reheated in the air fryer or oven before serving.
