  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Cooking spray or butter, for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

    • Gently fold in the diced ham, shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, and chopped fresh parsley into the batter until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer to Cake Pan:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the savory ham and cheese cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and Serve:
    • Once cooled, slice the cake into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature.
  10. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy this savory ham and cheese cake as a delicious appetizer, side dish, or light meal!
