Crack Burgers Recipe

Description:

Crack Burgers are irresistibly flavorful burgers, known for their addictive combination of ranch seasoning, crispy bacon, and melted cheese. The name comes from the “can’t stop eating” quality of these juicy burgers, perfect for barbecues, game days, or an indulgent dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 for juicy burgers)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion (for toppings)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Equipment:

  • Grill or stovetop skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs or spatula

Instructions:

Preparing the Patties (5-10 minutes):

  1. Mix the Ground Beef:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the ranch dressing seasoning. Gently mix until the seasoning is evenly distributed, but avoid over-mixing, as this can make the burgers tough.
  2. Form the Patties:
    • Divide the seasoned beef into 4 equal portions and form them into patties about ¾-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Burgers (10-12 minutes):

  1. Grill or Cook the Patties:
    • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season each patty with a pinch of salt and pepper on both sides. Cook the burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (160°F for medium).
  2. Melt the Cheese:
    • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Burgers (5 minutes):

  1. Toast the Buns:
    • Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together. Spread the sauce on the top and bottom buns.
  3. Assemble:
    • Place the cooked patties on the bottom buns. Top with crumbled bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion (if using). Close the burgers with the top buns.

Serving (2 minutes):

  1. Serve the Burgers:
    • Serve the Crack Burgers with fries, chips, or a side salad for a delicious meal.
