Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger Rollups

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes

  • Cook Time: 20–25 minutes

  • Total Time: 45 minutes

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Servings: 8 roll-ups

 Ingredients

For the Cheeseburger Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 6 strips bacon, chopped

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp mustard

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or American cheese, diced)

  • 1 tbsp pickle relish (optional)

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent dough or pizza dough (about 13.8 oz / 390g)

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced or grated

  • 1 tsp parsley or dried Italian seasoning

  • Extra cheese for topping (optional)

  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

 Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Bacon

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.

  2. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside. Leave about 1 tbsp bacon grease in the skillet for added flavor.

Step 2: Make the Cheeseburger Filling

  1. In the same skillet with reserved bacon grease, sauté the onion for 2–3 minutes until translucent.

  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes.

  3. Stir in the garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish (if using). Cook for 1–2 more minutes.

  4. Remove from heat. Stir in the cooked bacon and cheddar cheese.

  5. Let the mixture cool slightly—this helps keep the dough from getting soggy when rolling.

Step 3: Roll and Assemble

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Roll out the crescent dough or pizza dough into a large rectangle. Pinch seams if using crescent dough.

  3. Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log, like you would for cinnamon rolls.

  5. Slice the log into 8 even pieces and place cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4: Make the Garlic Butter

  1. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley or Italian seasoning.

  2. Brush the tops of the roll-ups generously with the garlic butter.

  3. Optional: Sprinkle with shredded cheese and sesame seeds for a burger-like finish.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Bake the roll-ups in the preheated oven for 18–22 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

  2. Let them cool slightly before serving.

 Storage & Reheating

  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

  • Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 300°F or in an air fryer for best texture. Microwaving works but may make the dough soft.
