carnivore stroganoff recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef steak (ribeye, sirloin, or tenderloin) or ground beef
  • 2 tbsp butter or tallow (for cooking)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth (optional for a saucier consistency)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder (if you use seasonings)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Beef:
    • If using steak, slice the beef into thin strips. If using ground beef, cook as is.
    • In a large skillet, heat the butter or tallow over medium-high heat.
    • Add the beef strips or ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper (and garlic or onion powder if desired), and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. If using ground beef, break it up as it cooks.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • Once the beef is cooked, reduce the heat to medium-low.
    • Add the heavy cream and beef broth (if using) to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  3. Add Sour Cream:
    • Stir in the sour cream, making sure it blends into the sauce smoothly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy and well mixed.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve the carnivore stroganoff hot. If you’re strictly carnivore, you can enjoy it as is. If you allow for low-carb or keto sides, you can serve it over scrambled eggs or cheese crisps.
