Griddle Green Beans

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Blackstone Griddle:
    • Preheat your Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Cook Bacon:
    • Place the diced bacon on the hot griddle and cook until crispy and golden brown, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Prepare Green Beans:
    • While the bacon is cooking, toss the fresh green beans with olive oil, minced garlic, and lemon zest in a large mixing bowl until evenly coated.
  4. Add Green Beans:
    • Once the bacon is crispy, push it to one side of the griddle and add the seasoned green beans to the other side.
  5. Cook Green Beans with Bacon:
    • Cook the green beans alongside the bacon, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender-crisp and slightly charred, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Combine and Season:
    • Once the green beans are cooked to your liking, mix them together with the crispy bacon on the griddle. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as needed.
  7. Serve:
    • Transfer the Blackstone griddle green beans with bacon to a serving platter or dish. Optionally, serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the beans before serving.
  8. Enjoy:
    • Serve the delicious green beans with bacon hot as a flavorful and satisfying side dish for any meal.

Note: You can customize this recipe by adding sliced onions, diced bell peppers, or mushrooms to the griddle along with the green beans for extra flavor and variety. Additionally, you can sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese or toasted almonds over the cooked green beans before serving for an added touch of texture and flavor.
