Air Fryer Baked Potato (Microwave first)

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Microwaving Time: 8-10 minutes
Air Frying Time: 20-25 minutes
Total Time: 35-40 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 large baking potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits

Instructions:

Microwave Pre-Cooking:

  1. Pierce Potatoes:
    • Using a fork, pierce each potato several times to allow steam to escape.
  2. Microwave Potatoes:
    • Place the potatoes in the microwave and cook on high for 8-10 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The potatoes should be partially cooked but still firm.

Air Frying:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) while the potatoes are microwaving.
  2. Coat Potatoes with Olive Oil:
    • Once microwaved, let the potatoes cool slightly. Rub each potato with olive oil, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Season:
    • Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other seasonings like garlic powder or paprika if desired.
  4. Air Fry:
    • Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure there is space between them. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through the cooking time.
  5. Check for Doneness:
    • Use a fork to check the doneness of the potatoes. They should be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
  6. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the air-fried baked potatoes from the air fryer. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Add Toppings:
    • Slice open each potato and fluff the insides with a fork. Add your favorite toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, or bacon bits.
  8. Enjoy:
    • Serve the air-fried baked potatoes as a side dish or a satisfying main course. Enjoy the crispy skin and fluffy interior!

Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the potatoes and the specific model of your air fryer. Adjust the cooking time accordingly.
