Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons butter or cooking spray
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, chopped herbs, hot sauce

Instructions:

Preparing the Bread:

  1. Create a Hole: Use a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread. Reserve the cut-out circles.
  2. Butter the Bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread, including the cut-out circles.

Air Frying:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Place Bread in Air Fryer: Lay the buttered side of the bread slices in the air fryer basket. Place the reserved cut-out circles next to the bread slices.
  3. Crack Eggs: Crack one egg into each hole in the bread slices. Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Air Fry: Place the air fryer basket in the preheated air fryer. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until the egg whites are set, and the yolks are cooked to your desired doneness.

Serving:

  1. Remove and Garnish: Carefully remove the air-fried egg toast from the air fryer. Sprinkle the eggs with additional salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with optional toppings like shredded cheese, chopped herbs, or hot sauce.
  2. Serve Hot: Serve the air fryer egg toast immediately while it’s hot. Place the reserved cut-out circles on top for a complete and fun presentation.
