 Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.

  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Rub the seasoning mix evenly over both sides of each pork chop.

 Step 2: Sear the Chops

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add the pork chops and sear for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Step 3: Caramelize with Brown Sugar

  1. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet.

  2. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar seasoning over the chops and let it melt, creating a caramelized glaze (about 3–5 minutes).

  3. Carefully turn the chops to coat both sides with the glaze.

Step 4: Optional – Deglaze the Pan

  1. For extra flavor and sauce, pour in chicken broth and scrape the browned bits from the pan.

  2. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

 Step 5: Rest and Serve

  1. Remove chops from skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.

  2. Spoon the glaze/sauce from the pan over the chops.

  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
