MILK BRIOCHE ROLLS

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Resting Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Baking Time: 15-18 minutes
Total Time: 3 hours 13 minutes
Yields: 12 rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Additional butter for brushing (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Activate Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk mixture, give it a gentle stir, and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, eggs, and softened butter.
  3. Knead Dough:
    • Mix the ingredients until a rough dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Shape Rolls:
    • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
  6. Second Rise:
    • Cover the baking dish with a kitchen towel and let the rolls rise for another 1 hour, or until they are puffy and have doubled in size.
  7. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake:
    • Bake the brioche rolls in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the tops are golden brown, and they sound hollow when tapped.
  9. Brush with Butter (Optional):
    • For an extra buttery finish, brush the warm rolls with melted butter immediately after taking them out of the oven.
  10. Cool:
    • Allow the milk brioche rolls to cool in the baking dish for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Serve:
    • Serve these soft and fluffy milk brioche rolls warm or at room temperature. They are delicious on their own or with your favorite spreads.
  12. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy these delightful milk brioche rolls as a perfect addition to breakfast or as a side for any meal!

Note: Experiment with different toppings like sesame seeds or a sprinkle of sugar before baking for added texture and flavor.
