Air fryer cheesy hasselback potatoes

Air fryer cheesy Hasselback potatoes are a delicious and visually appealing side dish. Here’s a simple recipe to guide you through making this tasty treat:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prep the Potatoes:

a. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

b. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

2. Make Hasselback Cuts:

a. Place a potato on a cutting board. Cut thin slices into the potato, making sure not to cut all the way through. The cuts should be about 1/8 to 1/4 inch apart.

b. Repeat this process for all the potatoes.

3. Season the Potatoes:

a. Brush each potato with olive oil, making sure to get the oil between the slices.

b. Season the potatoes with salt and black pepper, ensuring the seasoning gets into the cuts.

4. Air Fry the Potatoes:

Place the seasoned potatoes in the preheated air fryer basket.

Air fry for about 35-45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Cooking time may vary depending on your specific air fryer model and the size of the potatoes.

5. Add Cheese:

a. In the last 5-10 minutes of cooking, open the air fryer and sprinkle shredded cheese between the Hasselback slices.

b. Close the air fryer and allow the cheese to melt and become gooey.

6. Garnish and Serve:

a. Once the potatoes are cooked and the cheese is melted, remove them from the air fryer.

b. Drizzle melted butter over the top and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives if desired.

7. Serve:

Serve the cheesy Hasselback potatoes hot as a side dish. They are great for serving with grilled meats, as part of a holiday meal, or as a delightful addition to any dinner table.

These potatoes not only taste delicious but also look impressive due to the accordion-like cuts and gooey melted cheese. Enjoy this flavorful and cheesy twist on classic Hasselback potatoes!
