Air Fryer Pork Belly

Air Fryer Pork Belly

Preparation Time: 10 minutes (plus marinating time)

Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Difficulty Level: Intermediate

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pork belly, skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for the air fryer basket)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Pork Belly:
    • Pat the pork belly dry with paper towels. Score the skin side of the pork belly with a sharp knife, making shallow cuts.
  2. Marinate Pork Belly:
    • In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, five-spice powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
    • Rub the marinade all over the pork belly, making sure to get it into the scored skin. Allow the pork belly to marinate for at least 1-2 hours or overnight for better flavor.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Place in Air Fryer Basket:
    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil. Place the marinated pork belly, skin side up, in the basket.
  5. Air Fry:
    • Air fry the pork belly at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Optional Broil (for Extra Crispiness):
    • If desired, transfer the pork belly to a preheated oven on broil for 1-2 minutes to achieve an extra crispy skin. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  7. Rest and Slice:
    • Allow the pork belly to rest for a few minutes before slicing into desired portions.
  8. Serve:
    • Serve the crispy Air Fryer Pork Belly slices on a platter.
  9. Enjoy!
    • Enjoy this flavorful and crispy pork belly as a main dish or appetizer.

Note:

Adjust the marination time and seasoning according to your taste preferences. Cooking times may vary based on the specific air fryer model, so monitor the pork belly to achieve the desired crispiness. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy as is!
