CRISPY CHICKEN STRIPS

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Strips:

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • Cooking spray

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare Breading Station:

  • In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, place beaten eggs. In a third bowl, put breadcrumbs.

3. Bread the Chicken Strips:

  • Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s coated, then press it into the breadcrumbs, making sure it’s well coated. Place the breaded strip on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Repeat:

  • Repeat the breading process for all chicken strips.

5. Bake:

  • Lightly spray the breaded chicken strips with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip the strips halfway through to ensure even cooking.

6. Make the Dipping Sauce:

  • While the chicken is baking, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

7. Serve:

  • Once the chicken strips are crispy and cooked through, remove them from the oven. Serve immediately with the dipping sauce on the side.
