Ingredients:
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
- 1/2 cup capicola, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
- Red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- Prepare the Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled dough to a piece of parchment paper or a lightly floured pizza peel.
- Add the Sauce and Cheese:
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses evenly over the sauce.
- Add the Toppings:
- Evenly distribute the crumbled Italian sausage and sliced capicola over the cheese.
- Add the thinly sliced red onion and roasted red peppers on top of the meat.
- Season and Drizzle:
- Drizzle the olive oil over the toppings.
- Sprinkle the dried oregano and dried basil evenly over the pizza.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone if using) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Garnish and Serve:
