Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • Butter for toasting buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, mayo (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Blackstone Griddle:
    • Preheat your Blackstone griddle on high heat.
  2. Form the Meat Balls:
    • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form each portion into a ball. Do not overwork the meat to keep the burgers tender.
  3. Cook the Burgers:
    • Place the meatballs onto the hot griddle.
    • Using a heavy spatula or a burger press, smash each meatball down onto the griddle until it’s about 1/2 inch thick.
    • Season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Flip and Season:
    • Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the edges start to brown and the juices begin to bubble up.
    • Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
    • Place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  5. Toast the Buns:
    • While the burgers are cooking, spread a little butter on the cut sides of the burger buns.
    • Place the buns, cut side down, on the griddle to toast until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the Burgers:
    • Once the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the griddle.
    • Place the cooked patties on the toasted buns.
    • Add your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, and mayo.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve the smash burgers immediately while they’re hot and juicy.
