- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Butter for toasting buns
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, mayo (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Blackstone Griddle:
- Preheat your Blackstone griddle on high heat.
- Form the Meat Balls:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form each portion into a ball. Do not overwork the meat to keep the burgers tender.
- Cook the Burgers:
- Place the meatballs onto the hot griddle.
- Using a heavy spatula or a burger press, smash each meatball down onto the griddle until it’s about 1/2 inch thick.
- Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Flip and Season:
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the edges start to brown and the juices begin to bubble up.
- Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
- Toast the Buns:
- While the burgers are cooking, spread a little butter on the cut sides of the burger buns.
- Place the buns, cut side down, on the griddle to toast until golden brown.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Once the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the griddle.
- Place the cooked patties on the toasted buns.
- Add your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard, and mayo.
- Serve:
- Serve the smash burgers immediately while they’re hot and juicy.
